On our last day in Cairns, we ventured into the rainforest!  We booked our excursion through Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.  They picked us up from our motel in the morning and drove us to the rainforest.  We boarded a gondala (and since it was a quiet morning, we got our own.)

There are two stops along the way.  You can get off the gondala and walk around.

At the end of the skyrail, on top of a mountain, is the town of Kuranda.  It’s a little village with shops and restaurants.

After we walked around a little, we took the railway back down the mountain.

The train stopped by Barron Falls so we could take pictures.

When we got back down the mountain, the shuttle dropped us off back at our motel.  We walked around the esplanade and found out that April 25 was ANZAC day (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps).  Kinda like Veterans Day.

Thus ended our week-plus tour of Australia.

Thanks Australia!  We thoroughly enjoyed our time.  We ate so much good food.  Your excursions are one-of-a-kind and I am so glad we were able to take part in many of them!  You are a beautiful country with such hospitable locals.  However, you are quite expensive, so I am thankful to God for blessing us so that we could comfortably experience another culture!

Now, off to the Cairns International Airport to board our red-eye flight to Auckland, NZ!
